Watching the Spain-Honduras soccer match showed why it is very annoying to watch any spanish speaking nation play the game save for possibly Brazil and Argentina (but they may speak Portugese)........the creepy play, the theatrics, the cowardly diving, the lack of knowing how to man up......it was a pity the referee didn't throw several out on redcards to display enough, he tried to referee them like men, but both sides acted like B*****s.....instead Spain blamed the referee because in 90 minutes they couldn't score one goal on an inferior team, and that inferior team was dropping to the ground like a $5 ***** to slow the clock, it's been a while since I've seen over 5 minutes of stoppage time........so annoying, but the Honduras goalkeeper put up an Olympic effort aided by the woodwork.

I'm convinced it was why GB blew it so badly. Without their team director in their ear, they've forgotten how to think on the saddle. They should have been able to bring the peleton back, but they seriously misjudged the effort and timing. Great win for Vino. What a terrific way to go into retirement.

Miserable conditions in the womens road race. Felt bad when the US rider couldn't stay with the break, looked to have a podium spot looked up. The Russian was just sucking wheel...

Does anyone know if Cancellara will be competing in Wednesday's time trial?

You thought Badminton was sacred? For once it earns it's first syllable.

My thought is if someone tries to lay down on you, you smash them in the face as hard as possible (metaphorically or literally, depending on the sport). The Olympics should be about sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for ones opponent. If you aren't playing to win, you aren't showing any of that.
I ain't quiet, everybody else is too loud.

The fact that there were only 5 on the team, as opposed to 8 or 9, played a bigger factor IMO than no radios. Four guys cannot control a race that long and no other team in their right mind was going to help them set up a bunch sprint.

And in this case, if you win, likely they go on to win a medal and you go home with nothing. Yeah, that showed 'em.

I would have expected the world's best to be better at faking it.

Play hard and suck, people will tolerate that.

It seems she did more than originally posted......
The expulsion of Mr. Morganella followed a separate Twitter incident in which a Greek triple jumper, Voula Papachristou, was bounced from the Games after posting allegedly racist comments about Africans and linking to videos of Golden Dawn, an extremist far-right political party in Greece.

Impressive day for Wiggins and Armstrong. Those thrones that the top 3 sat in for both races was a bit weird, but fitting for the setting, I guess.

    I like it.

Weird the kinds of faces people make when they're flittering through space. Also a little weird how good at flipping and spinning on various pieces of lumber some people are.

One more reason their 'prime time' tape delayed reasoning is a bunch of crud........too much of an opportunity for them to create their own history.....the rest of the world is seeing the feed in real time but not the depraved Americans, they need to be spoon fed by Bob and his minions

IIRC, I thought they did at least show the aftermath, showing her crying, consoled by the coaches and then the score, then saying USA had to average XXXXX to win and it was pretty much in the bag. Or was that another Russian who also screwed up?

This is the same NBC who rigged a spark on a GM pickup truck to show that it explodes during a crash.

It's a tape delay. I fail to see the issue here...

They're being accused of misleading viewers into thinking it was still a contest. Kind of like hiding that a football game is a blowout, in an attempt to keep viewers from leaving.

The final gymnasts could have done the "roll, Dick, roll" across the mat and still secured the gold medal for the USA, given the points scenario.
