    Hinch, Wheldon, AA: what if...?

What if Dan didn't die at Las Vegas and drove for AA in 2012... What would've happened to Hinch?

Did he have enough sponsorship money to find a lesser drive? If he did, where do you think he would've ended up? It's hard to tell actually, as many rides were already taken before Las Vegas. And a few of the available rides never materialised due to the lack of engines(Shank, Conquest, 2nd RLL).

Perhaps he would've found no ride, and would've moved to another series - at least for 2012?

Quite troubling how his situation is similar to Helio's in 2000. A tragic death giving a youg driver a golden opportununity to drive for a top-team - and perhaps allowing him to save his compromised open-wheel career.

IF Dan was now in the Go Daddy car which was the plan you need to answer two questions, were there any teams with open seats going into 2012 who hired drivers and did Hinch have any money to bring?

I think you have to honestly say No to both so he would have joined the line of drivers looking for rides. He might have been able to get some kind of sports car ride or he'd be out.

The other question would be would Hinch have taken a ride with Lotus team if he could have been hired and then would he have been set back by being in a Lotus?

Makes you think about the stars that might have been. Can we have Tobacco back Uncle Sam?
"Unfortunately, the business types who now permeate the sport don't share this same gut centered devotion. I can only hope that the truly addicted will prevail, and that the original spirit of open wheel competition will somehow manage to survive and prosper into the future."

    Thanks for the answer.

It would have been a shame to see another promising ROY on the sidelines, after Rafa Matos and Alex Lloyd.

I'm trying to remember, was Conway already signed with Foyt? Perhaps Hinch would have wound up there?
