Definitely worth watching. I saw it for the second time on a flight back from China last week. Very impressed Delta had it as an option.

I didn't follow F1 much between about '86 to '94, and seeing that corrupt Balestre reminded me why.

I was only slightly aware of who Senna was when he died. I was a 100% roundy-round guy back then

But man what a pr!ck that Balestre was. I was unaware.

Alain Prost wasnt exactly showered with praise in this film. Was he the Black Hat back then?

The film made him look like an awful human being.

There is some brutal footage in this film that I had never seen before.

Bernie has always looked like a little Troll hasnt he?

Yes, this film doesn't make one a Prost fan, that's for sure.

It was neat to see how God-centered Senna was, I didn't know that about him.

As I get older, it doesn't take much to get me emotional. The funeral and the Brazilians crying really got to me.

Dale Earnhardt won the NASCAR race the day Senna died and mentioned him in victory lane.

Derek Daly was the "color" guy for the USA telecast.

FWIW ... anybody buying the DVD of this movie can easily skip paying extra for Blu-Ray as none of the film used is of very high quality in the first place.

I think Prost and Senna got along better after Prost went to Williams. The two of them being teamed together at McLaren was not a good situation. They were clearly meant to race against each other and not play second fiddle to one another.

It did mention that Prost handles Sennas chairties now so I guess they did make up before 5-1-94

I noticed Prost was one of the pall bearers, along with Emmo.

Prost is a trustee for Senna's charities.

Their rivarly (the best in all of racing over the last 30 years, IMO) was simply about competition and being #1, nothing more/nothing less.

If Senna didn't have that "alpha dog" mentality they never would've had any issues as he would've been the happy-to-be-here #2 driver, but that wasn't the case and once Senna came to McLaren, Prost knew his title days at McLaren were numbered because of how good Senna was.

BTW- How Martin Donnelly and Reubens survived those crashes is beyond me.

I became a fan of Senna's watching him race in Detroit his rookie season... completely blew me away that he was competitive while driving for a back marker team like Toleman. Senna, Donohue and Jones were my all-time favorites, and it's sad that I've only gotten to see Parnelli grow old.

I put off watching this till now because I wasn't ready before... Not that I'm saying I was ready this time but I was ready to go through it.

The movie takes some artistic liberties about the roles each played in that era. This is shown most in the interview that Jackie Stewart did with Senna. Making Senna out as the brash young hero who fights for his beliefs and what not, and making Stewart out to be the old, out of touch codger was pretty classless. The movie could have done without that scene because you really need to know what Jackie Stewart had been through, and what Alain Prost had grown up in, to understand why Senna bringing a karting style of racing into F1 was such a controversial move. Nowadays it is the norm. Back then it was a great way to end up in a casket.

They started to like each other once Prost retired

I first viewed it in Indy and it was just as riveting when I saw it again on ESPN2!

I just finished watching it last night on net flix, caught about a half hour each of the last three nights. It is an incredible documentary, and I learned a lot. Back then, I tended to simply root against guys who dominated, so I never really rooted for him. After seeing this movie, I wish I had.

I wish we had 30 more movies like this about the heroes we have.

They actually made up right before Ayrton died, in fact the Imola weekend there's some touching in-car audio of Ayrton saying hello to his friend Alain.
