    Mid-Ohio Schedule

There are many discrepancies when looking at the Mid-Ohio schedule from the Mid-Ohio website and the Indycar website. Should we assume the Indycar schedule is the most correct?

I want to attend the Catholic Mass Sunday morning. It is supposed to be in a building by the paddock area at 9am on the schedule. Will I need to purchase a paddock pass to go? Hope not!

You don't want to purchase a paddock pass to attend church? Maybe you should become a Free Methodist.

Yeah, I was kind of bummed out when I couldn't find the Mass at the Baltimore GP. I'd like to know more about that. Is is just for people working the Indycar race, or is it open to public. I would respect the decision if it was private since I'm sure people who aren't familiar with a Mass might be disruptive and thinks its just another opportunity to see a driver.

At Mid-Ohio last year, mass was held in the driver's meeting trailer. The meeting trailer is in the paddock; so you do need a paddock pass (at least you did last year). Also last year the mass time differed from what was on the official schedule.

Last year in the paddock area, there were paper signs outside of the paddock restrooms that had the mass times and the non-denominational workshop service as well. So anyhow, I would look for signs in the paddock area on Saturday that will be advertising the location and time of services on Sunday.

Other than needing a paddock pass to be in the area, both Catholic Mass and the non-denominational worship service or open to anyone. Last year, Mass was a group of maybe 30 people. It was a mix of fans, crew members, and series officials (no drivers, but it overlapped with the morning warmup which was pushed back due to morning fog). It is just a small narrow room with folding chairs (inside a trailer). If you are interested, I wrote about it here:

Also here is a picture inside the driver's meeting trailer of the priest after mass (I'm not in the photo), note the checkered flag stole:

Lastly, here is my son showing the mass handout (kind of a cool free souvenir from a race weekend):

We'll be there again this year.

I have a question....and this may be slightly OT. I downloaded/copied the weekend schedule, since I'll be at Mid-Ohio.
This pertains to the ALMS part of the schedule.....what is "vitesse/Course Clearance", which is inserted throughout the ALMS practice and race schedules, during the weekend?
I know "vitesse" is the French for "speed" but what is the significance of this on the schedule? Is it to clear the track, in between the ALMS sessions...or what?

ps....Mass is at 9:00, Sunday morning with Chapel service at 9:30...to answer the previous questions. I attended a service, a few years ago and it was in a trailer(Paddock area). I hope that helps.

VIP pace car laps, plus the saftey crew inspection.
