    rFactor 2012

Does anyone know if a 2012 IndyCar Mod has been made for download? Can't seem to find one anywhere....

There's one for Simraceway and someone converted it for rFactor but it was technically illegally done and the guy had to pull the mod off.

There's 1 mod planned for the 2011 season and the IR03 is apaprently going to be a stock content in rF2 and Alex Lam is planning on creating the DW12 for rF2.

Other than those examples (all of which are either very silent about the project or don't have much progress). there's no DW12 unless you're willing to buy it in Simraceway (i heard Simraceway's DW12 is super unrealistic however.)

Depending on what you're looking for, I went ahead and painted the 2007 ChampCars after the 2012 IndyCars. They've also got talent files that work mostly well.

    You can download them here:

The Pagoda Mod Group Dw12 is on track, just trying to get the physics right before we release the beta. You've seen the model before with SaidHead's postings here on track forum in the design it thread.

Is the DW12 still coming to iRacing?

I still race NR2003 and rFactor a ton. It's amazing how good the offline AI for NR2003 is after all of these years. I have tweaked nearly every file in that game, reflection updates, AI, talent, track, damage, smoke, whatever.

I am an iRacing guy, but for offline, I have literally every NASCAR, IndyCar and IROC car that has hit the track from about 1987-88 to current. I am guessing I have around 8,000-9,000 cars loaded into my NR2003 folders. lol. All talent file rated, player lists for each year, etc. I even did a "all-star" list of the best drivers and best looking cars from 1988-1999 all in one Mod. It's an addiction worse than heroine.

I have downloaded SimRaceway, Cars, etc - but for online, it's just tough to beat iRacing. For offline, I am not motivated to do anything outside what I have, I love it.

PS - does anyone remember who did the Cup90 Mod originally? The AI and 3D models are still amazing after all these years.. You just can't make a sutibale MOD for IndyCar for NR2003 though and rFactor is limited for offline AI.

Every race I run in is in preparation for the Indianapolis 500. Indy is the most important thing in my life. It is what I live for. - Al Unser Jr.

Everything I ever wanted in my life, I found inside the walls of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. - Eddie Sachs.

Dennis Rioux did the 90s, but AeroWar88 was done by ThePits way before the 90's mod.

Yeah, the models for Aero are a little rough, but still fun.

YOUR IndyCar Mods are still wicked fun to play. Love those Dallaras, you really nailed everything, again rFactor is just a little limited for offline play with the AI and it's hard to get a group for online these days.

    aowzone's kickazz stuff..

Gavkiwi's cars added some greats from 1993 as well for the 1995 Mod. (Didn't you make the Menard's for that one too?)

rFactor's AI will never be the best, but I've found that you can tweak it a lot and get good results out of it.

Agreed, I have really only worked on Indy - it is pretty decent now for 500 miles, but no matter what I do, a car (or three) always nails the wall the the South Chute on Lap 1. Again, I almost like watching the old-school cars run to see who will win as much as anything.

The alpha channel messed up on that Bosel car? Something isn't right there. Colors are way off and everything is too reflective.

    just the guy I need

can you tell me how to fix NR2003 sound issue. All the sounds are fine -except engine sound that does not change its pitch with revs, but just goes louder at the same pitch. really really annoying. So I do not play it at all. Although It is fantastic sim.

I had a copy of NR 2003, sold it for good money on eBay about 3 years ago.

In the game. Options menu has a place to uncheck "3D Sound". I think you need specific hardware for that to work. Can't remember, it's been almost 10 years.

it is not helping. I tried everything. turning 3d off. than turning hardware acceleration in dxdiag off. nothing helped. I even tweaked core.ini

    nothing

It really kills the game. car sounds like a hair drier

There are several topics about this on Rubbins Racin' and Masgrafx. A solution that has worked for some people is downloading the 'Realtek' drivers for your soundcard. It may be worth looking into.
I am a fan of the IZOD IndyCar Series, Formula 1, and AMA Supercross in that respective order.

I just installed my old copy of NR2003 on my new PC last night.(the PC I originally played it on had crashed so many times I finally replaced it and had not played games on it in at least 3 years) The 2003 carset had driver-owner combos I had totally forgotten about. Mike Skinner in the Morgan McClure number 4, Schrader in the 49 etc. Ran a quick 50 lapper at Bristol with HILARIOUS results after I went back watched the replay of what going on besides me. Rusty Wallace had a straightaway lead the whole race, but spins out a lapped car with 6 to go to cause a caution. This leads to teammate Ryan Newman sneaking under him on the restart to win the race. I could not have laughed harder it that happened in real life 9 years ago. Downloaded a mod or two, a carset, and a couple shortracks. Will probably waste most of the weekend doing more of the same

Did you ever get this fixed? Sorry - other than the 3D sound glitch, not sure either.

I had an Air Gun going off in rfactor on the front stretch at Indy for months until someone posted the fix - I know, little stuff like that can drive you nuts.

no never, but I got used to it. And I just turned engine sound down a little bit to 33% and all other sounds up to 90%, like tire and wind -so I masked that buzzing somewhat

it sounds like a hair dryer basically -but you can hear the engine beneath

    What is the fix?

There are multiple ways to fix that. Just delete the sound file, or you can edit the track and remove the models that play sound.
