    First weekend in August

Cloudy skies here but am getting ready to head to Gas City, despite the tsk tsk I'll get from PHJIndy.

    (Bloomington hosts the Outlaws tonight.)

USAC has headed west this weekend.

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.

Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.

Well, you didn't save much money with gas at $4 a gallon. I'd say you will break about even.
We all like what we all like.
I'm listening to Bloomington on DirtVision though.
    Have a very blessed day!

Both tracks had 21 sprinters. Low car counts at a few places this Friday.

At Gas City, it was Shane Cottle winning...driving the Fox Brothers' 53. A.J. Hopkins was an impressive 2nd. Another kid, C.J. Leary, was 3rd. Billy Puterbaugh Jr. was 4th and Thomas Meseraull was 5th.

A couple of questions that I have here. Does Jared Irvan have a dad named Ernie? Would Keith Shampine be related to a late and great supermodifed racer?

August is always a tough time of the year on car counts. A lot of team regroup for the big season ending races.

    Oops, he did it again.

Kyle Larson wings again at Oskaloosa in the Hoffman 69. My buddy the Cowboy sez that Larson is four for four when racing for the Hoffmans.
