    A "paper" car

A friend of mine who I've never met did an unbelievable kindness for me and made me a paper model of my favorite indy car, Old Calhoun. He sent it to me a few weeks ago and I have struggled trying to take some decent pictures of it. I don't have a camera with a macro lens so this is the best I can do. The background is an original brick which is in a wooden box with a plexiglass top.

The work and the detail are amazing; this car is only about 2 inches long. I can't thank my old friend enough. As he always says, "Peace in racing."

IMO, the most overused word in the English language--and my personal least favorite word--is "amazing." But that's what that is. Thanks for sharing.

I'm just sorry it took me so long to post the pics. Took some with my iPhone, looked awful and the ones with my wife's Sony cam weren't much better.

I think that's great Paper. For years people have been at each others' throats CART vs IRL, IRL vs ChampCar....etc. The split is over and its good to see old enemies (at least post wise) become friends. I wish it happened more in this world.

for any who claims to be indycar /champcar/ whatever,, the best hope of our choice of racing to rise is to pull together and support all who have made this sport we love great.
This year that sows ear of a car that has become a silk purse of event maker should convince anyone still on the rag we DO have an incredible group of racers, workers, and fans that are heartfelt bound to the cars no matter how they change ,

they are the cars of Indy,, thats as good as it gets,,

I came in with vukie, and now after much turmoil I lived in the coming years of a rise doubted by all the nay sayers,, I see a comeback,,,,,
I only wish I could make a car for everyone here,,,,,,, pat

Those are incredible! I really like the texture on the tire surface. It looks like hot, sticky rubber!

we are making it and the clouds of denial that a car no one liked is lifting it all up,, whooda thought it,,,,,its been a long time since so many races in a row showed the skill and beauty of open wheel diverse racing,, we have all been so enthrenched in how to fix the headaches we are not in full appreciation of the demonstration of open wheel racing ALL of our teams are showing

two races no yellows, one race had 12 differant teams in the top twelve,, or something like that,,,,,
this sport has had so many ups and downs in my 55 seasons.. the car I made that starts this post is a tribute to the beauty of someone going 150,, ya shooda been there,, it was a memory never to fade

just like many ,, and it appears we have many more to come,,

is anything good when the complaining out does the cheering? we have a race car delivering, a joint effort of all that was all series,,
    we're gonna be all right,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,paper
