Thread: Alonso's next teammate

    Alonso's next teammate

I believe should be Bruno Senna. He's got F1 experience (which Luca and Stefano want), would work well under Fernando (it's his team), and he happens to be a Senna (Ayrton never drove for the Scuderia). So far, Bruno has scored most of the Williams' championship points but now that Totto Wolff has taken a larger role in the team (and happens to be Bottas' manager) we will probably not see Bruno in the Williams much longer

Senna P1... Maldonado usually out qualifies Senna & he has the GP victory this year. Pastor also has 29 points to Bruno's 24 IMO, Bottas is popular with Williams & might push Maldonado more than Senna has this year.

I like Bruno, but no way in Hell would or should he be in a Ferrari at this point in his career. He hasn't blown any wigs back at this point. A few years from now? Maybe. But he'd better step his game up because, like his driving or hate it (and I hate it), Pastor has out-classed him when it matters this season.

I'm a Senna tool from way back and this shocked me.

Bruno has not shown very well in F1 IMHO. I don't think he is going to see a top seat unless he gets luck, signs for a secondary team and that tema has a surprise season--kinda like Button and Rubens got lucky with Brawn. More likely is Williams drop him and he ends up in a no-hoper seat.

well, how long the Lotus many is gonna last, how many wins has Kimi got this year?

Ferrari doesn't just hire some mediocre ride buyers and it's not a bad thing sitting behind a World Champion who probably gonna win this year, too.

bottom line is, he had won when he was with Ferrari, he's close but hasn't won with Renault.

Kimi might not be crazy about being on the same team as Fernando, but there are only three teams I'd be confident about having a competitive car: McLaren, Ferrari, and whatever team Adrian Newey works for. If he wants a maximum chance of winning a championship, multiple races, he needs to be in one of those six seats. The other guy on the team probably is going to be a star.

Absolutely. The dude is on the fast-track to 8 WDCs. Luca better sign him soon and Fernando had better watch his back.

Ferrari will never hire Kimi again IMHO. After his deal with them and all of the sudden losing his motivation and wanting to go try rally cars, dont think Ferrari will ever consider giving him one of their seats ever again. That ship has sailed.

Besides I would like to see Kimi and Grosjean develop that Lotus into not only a winning machine but also a title contending machine and make it 4 teams capable of winning the world title. Mercedes can kiss goodbye ever being title contenders as long as Rosberg and Schumacher continue to pilot their machines. Doesnt matter how good they make their cars. They need better talent behind the wheel. Always thought Rosberg was overrated and Schumacher just flat out isnt any good anymore. Dont care how good or great of a driver you are, at some point your skills deteriorate.

I've heard on the TV commentary Perez and Di Resta mentionned as possibilities. Not sure if anything behind this other that Ferrari being a big drive and these two showing potential.

I like the idea of a worthy driver who can push and challenge the No1, as opposed to a know your place No2. Do you think after Mclaren and Hamilton that Alonso would have some Schumacher style approval of the No2 or guraranteee No1 status clause in his contract?

This. Except I'm not sure Kimi would want to go back to Ferrari anyway. I'd love to see Di Resta in the Merc, though.

The black & gold cars will most likely have a new name in 2013 & seem to have a cash flow issue compared to the other mega ,front running teams! They might pull off a win or two, but won't seriously contend for the WDC or WCC.

I hope this happens. Perez has been impressive all season, is young, and shows a lot of promise. I'm sure Ferrari well probably try to make Perez the #2 driver behind Alonso but what driver would turn down the chance to drive for Ferrari.
