    Crap!!!!

I started a new job earlier this year and just realized that neither my wife, nor myself renewed our tickets for May!!! Just tried to speak to someone in the ticket office about getting my seats back and she was no help even after explaining the situation and letting her know that we have held tickets for 20+ years.

    Man, this sucks...

try going up the ticket office ladder a bit - there might be someone higher up that can help you. They are pretty responsive...

I tried to go up and Cindy, I believe, stated that there was nothing that she could do. Putting a letter together now to try to get some assistance.

They are in T2. We have aisle seats and have become friends with the groups around us. I have the name of a/the person that I believe I need to speak with but need to know how IMS formats email address to send a note to him. Does anyone know?

Understanding your location, but try to go to the ticket office in person (road trip!). Have them check to see if the seats have yet been filled, and if not make the request, and do the transaction. Maybe take a bribe... that's about your only hope.

I lost mine in T3 a couple of years back do to my own brain-fart, and did not realize it until February, when it dawned on me. I think I remember remarking "Crap!", about like you did.

How many tickets will you need. If I get the ticket upgrade I asked for (I have 42 years seniority) I will have our old seats in Turn 4 for sale at face value.

I ordered our same seats in case I don't get the upgrade. I sure would hate to lose these seats, we have had them since 1976. You can see the last half of Turn 3, the North chute, turn 4, all the way down the front straight and the entrance into turn 1. The seats are Stand J, Section 30, Row T, seats 9, 10, 11, and 12. These are the last 4 seats on the nortth end of J. Face value is $70.

Thanks for the info. I tracked down the person that may be able to assist and now I am in a holding pattern...

My dad had held the same tickets for 25 years in Stand J and something happened on the reorder form he sent in one year, and we lost those seats, started back down towards the bottom and made it back up to row M when we stopped renewing them. There have simply been so many tickets still available, plus others going for face or not much more, that we have just been waiting until the Month of May to get our tix for the race.

Not that I don't like to give the Speedway a loan for 350 days, I would actually like demand getting back to the way it was and force me to buy a year ahead of time.

My highschool buddy and I have been going for years. He always orders the seats. He writes polite letters every year and we have been getting upgraded back to the seats we had back in 1960...
This year apparently you can only order tickets on line again. He can't run a computer so he had his genius son do it last year. His son moved to St. Louis and I got elected to go on line to get the tickets this year.......
We spent an hour on the phone between us getting his name and password emailed to him so he could tell me so I could use them to get into his on line account.
I THINK we have the same seats as last year.....

Nice going - it's always comforting to know you will be in the same seats at the Speedway - makes it feel like all is well with the universe...

Thanks for posting this. I forget things all the time, seems to get worse with age! I have a system where we go to the ticket office the day after the race and reorder them in person. I've also found that the ticket office is full of the nicest, most accommodating people in the world!

AWESOME News! I guess you'll be following up with a nice gift?

IMS Ticket office is always helpful. Good on them for helping you out with this.

We make it a point to renew the morning after the race. Big note out just to make sure neither of us forget. We want to keep our seats until we can no longer climb to the top of the stand.

Raise your hand if you've checked your account 3 times since this thread was started, just to make sure you've renewed your seats...
