    Dieppe: August 19, 1942

    Failed raid on the French port. 70 years on.

    RIP boys. Over 900 killed, 2000 captured.


    Many say it was a hard lesson learned for D-Day. Many thought it was an unnecessary sacrifice to appease Roosevelt and Stalin for lack of action on the western front.

    New research points to a great ruse to allow agents to infiltrate and steal German codes.

    i mention this one and some other sacrifices that " Canadian'' soldiers made in the attempted libertion of our French brothers, when they speak of how they get mistreated and oppressed.

    dying in an attempt to regain freedom is never n vain. Joplin got it wrong, freedoms just another word when you have everything to lose....not nothing to lose.

    may the boys know thet died serving a bigger cause.......
    .....every dog was born free to live, even if it means dying.
