Does NASCAR have something to do with ALMS/Grand-AM? I'm serious, company sponsorships for top American open-wheel racing is not exactly booming right now. Patron, Fuzzy, Continental, Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mazda, Aston Martin, etc, anything would help. Consolidation would help, but could be very expensive.

Hint: Jim France started Grand-Am and it's HQed at DIS. A few years ago Grand-Am was formally bought up by NASCAR.

Video of the press conference for the conceptual class structure of the merged series for 2014-2015 is up at: http://www.grand-am.com/GRANDAMTV.aspx (if not elsewhere as well).

I am by no means an isc or nascar supporter but i actually am excited for 2014. This merger i predict will go rather smoothly with all races in the US and ACO approval. This split was nothing like "another" racing series and should be an easy mending of the fence if there ever was one . I have always supported both series and look forward to seeing the best of both worlds.

Speed is suggesting that they may split the prototypes and GT cars into separate races at some tracks...not a bad idea.

Some real nice shots in there ... the one of the Core PC through the corner workers' hut was weird and imaginative, and some of the rest were just gorgeous photos. Couple of shots with cars going one way in the foreground and the other way in the background worked well, too. Looks like the track offers up some great backgrounds. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much. VIR is truly a special place. Yes indeed, it is a very natural setting, very green. It is so easy making clean backgrounds that I threw a few obstructions in there. I picked up on that by accident while processing the first days batch. I went back day 2 and shot the hut.

A merged road racing series could very good for VIR, and I would certainly put that on anyones bucket list for them. Bring the RV, or the tent.

To quote the late great Paul Newman "If there is a heaven on Earth, It's VIR."
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat" -Teddy Roosevelt
