Fan Force United - Auto Club Speedway - Season Finale - Stefan Wilson

Fan Force United is pleased to announce that we will be heading to the season-ending Firestone Indy Lights race at Auto Club Speedway in California, with veteran driver Stefan Wilson behind the wheel of the #24 machine.

Wilson, who has contested 29 Firestone Indy Lights races in his young career, notching 2 wins (streets of Toronto & Kentucky Speedway), 5 podiums, and 1 pole position, is looking forward to getting back on track and getting up to speed on the 2 mile oval.

Offering his thoughts, Stefan said “I’m really excited about this, and am just so thankful to get a call and the opportunity to race. My goal, of course, is to eventually make it to the IndyCar series. I know I have time to make that happen, so I’ve been working very hard to be sure that I am back in the Indy Lights series for next season. Because of that, being able to run the last race of this season is quite pleasing. It will be great to get back in a car, and to hit the track with Fan Force United. I just want to thank Tyce, Chris, Scott, and everybody on the team for this opportunity. I know it’s a hard-working group of guys, and I definitely don’t want to disappoint. I’m really looking forward to representing the team, to representing Jacked Up Energy Drink, and to being very competitive next weekend.”

As Stefan mentions, Fan Force United is also hitting the track in California with a new sponsor, that being “Jacked Up Energy Drink” (www.jackedupenergy.com). Owing to this new relationship with Jacked Up, the #24 car will sport a fresh and energetic look for the race, and the Jacked Up Energy party bus will make its way to the racetrack as well. Chris Williams, one of the team principals for Fan Force United, added: “We’re really looking to close out our season with a strong run out in California, and heading there with Jacked Up on board as a sponsor makes us feel even better about our chances. The guys have been working extra hard getting the car ready for this race, and we feel like we’re going to be running up front. We’re excited about our new relationship with Stefan and with Jacked Up, and we expect next weekend to be a lot of fun.”

Stefan, who will be celebrating his 23rd birthday on September 20th, boasts impressive credentials. He was the recipient of the 2007 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year award, which has also been awarded to drivers such as David Coulthard, Jenson Button, and Dario Franchitti. In addition to his Firestone Indy Lights victories, his young career has seen him post wins in Formula Palmer Audi (4) and British F3 (4). Stefan has also done a Formula 1 test with the famed McLaren team. Bolstered by his 2 wins and 3 additional podium finishes, and though he was not able to contest the entire schedule, Stefan posted a 3rd place in the 2011 Firestone Indy Lights championship.

The Firestone Indy Lights race at the Auto Club Speedway in California will take place at 6pm ET on Saturday, September 15th, and will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network September 20th at 4pm ET.

Super awesome! Been waiting for this news all season long. As a fan of talented young drivers, a big thank you to Fan Force United to (again) put a deserving driver in the car!

it's the least we can do... and apparently we have a thing for guys who are turning 23. Armaan turned 23 in May. Clauson turned 23 Milwaukee race weekend. Stefan turns 23 on the 20th of this month. we may not have gotten the results for which we were hoping, but we feel like it's been a great season for us --- a lot of learning. we're expecting good things next weekend.

    Great to hear.

Just wish it was Clausen in the big cars, but it's a step in the right direction.

Long Shanks (yes that is a nickname for SW) is a great choice, I wish he was running fulltime this year over a couple of the current drivers.

He is hugely talented and with the right promotion (yeah, self sponsored ride buying bucks), I'm sure he could be a great kid to eventually move up to the big cars.
