Such a shame, Danica clearly isn't jiving in the tin tops and Pops takes the fall.

I'll take heat for this but this is a great move for JR Motorsports. You can't be a boss and a friend at the same time.

It would be best for all involved, IMHO, to give the Eury's a job that is not at the race track and hire some people without such strong personal connections to run the race teams. How can you as a driver stand up or say no to the boss' best friend?

Danica would do much better at a different team. Sadly, that will never happen.

Why does everybody throw Danica's name in here like its her fault. It isnt. I hate to see him go. I wish Eury Jr was leaving instead. She needs a new crew chief.

Oh well, next year when she is full time cup, I wont have to worry about Tony Eury Jr.

I agree it isn't fair to blame Danica, but it is equally unfair to exonerate her as a contributing factor. Right now, no one is really talking much, so the real story behind the firing isn't known. In most cases, the real reasons will never be revealed, leaving all of the pundits to speculate.

The other day I was reading an article on the internet about how Eury was teaching Danica how to cut competitors tires, etc. Eury called it getting even.

That was Eury jr., her crew chief..

Eury sr., was Cole Whitt's crew chief (Bruce Cook replace him before Talladega) and he was competition director..

It almost pains me to say this, but the Eury's remind me of a man from Houston Texas who is probably the greatest race car driver to have ever lived, but are just behind the times in the world of modern auto racing. Time marches on. There is a point where people don't keep up either physically, or mentally, or both. For whatever reason.

Someone made a decision that it was that time for the Eury's. After the initial pain, i hope it works out well for all involved.

Not when the leaders are putting her another lap down.

Tony Sr. certainly has a ton of experience but he's also what seems like an "old school" kinda guy.
I'm guessing they want to go with somebody younger and more technical background.
I don't think Danica has much to do with it, because the team is likely working toward how they want to look in 2013 with her replacement.

Wasn't Tony Sr Cole Whitt's crew chief until earlier this year? Seems he has not had much to do with Danica's team directly except in his higher level role. For whatever reason, Tony Sr did not work out with Cole and I always felt he would have been a good fit with Danica.

As far as Tony Jr goes, I have never liked him as a crew chief. Maybe he started too young and has now become a good crew chief, but I have never seen that out of him. It has always felt like the Earnhardts were trying to remain loyal to their family. I actually have nothing against nepotism provided they have realistic expectations and know when to fire a family member.

Lol, "we don't know the facts so it's unfair to exonerate her".

She's out of that team next year, there's no point in dismantling the company for her... there's only a few more races this year.

The lack of wins by anyone this year makes more sense as a factor for a team shakedown.

Even though I'm not a fan of his as a crew chief, I thought he did a good job in Danica's development these last 3 years transitioning from Indycar to stock cars.
