    Pepperoni Rolls

Growing up we made yearly trips to visit family in West Virginia and were brought up on pepperoni rolls. My late aunt Gene made the best ones. Years passed and I forgot all about these things until I looked them up on line a few years ago. As it turns out pepperoni rolls are sort of a West Virginia thing as there were many Italian immigrants who settled in the area.

While I was just in Fairmont for the funeral of another aunt I was able to take in the pepperoni "buns" from Colasessanos--a legendary eatery in the area known for this regional dish.

I highly recommend them if you're in the area or want to order them online. You can make them on your own but its important to get really good pepperoni

Like I told you earleir, they do look wonderful. I was tempted to lick the screen. Ive seen it done at many pizza places with sausage too.

Probably a little too cold for the Gelato, eh?
