nascar says it wasn't the seat belt

Now the official announcement is not out yet, but reports are that it will not blame the seat belt for DE's death. It will instead, focus on car construction.
Some people will do nearly anything in order to be able to not do anything.

The cars are just too ridgid. Note Laziers comments after his IROC crash ..I'm sore all over, Indy cars give with the crash, stock cars don't (paraphrased).

Seems the NASCAR boys could use some openwheel technology in construction of their cars.

yeah they said tommy probst was mistaken, the belt broke , but it didn't matter because the belt held long enough to cause the head whip.

if the belt broke there would not have been any head whip.

personally I think dale kept the belt loose on purpose because he knew it didnt matter anyway.

he wore a lighter helmet, kept the belt loose , trying to avoid his ultimate fate.

but it didn't matter because those cars are built like brick craphouses.
    It's a brand new day.

This was not NASCAR making this announcement. It was the Orlando Sentinal. NASCAR's report comes out August 21st.

I thought this was the IRL forum.

Suck it up, StatMan. This story concerns the fate of Bill Simpson, who is more important than all the Nascar people combined.

You may or may not be correct...I suspect it depends on one's perspective...Simpson is indeed an important figure, yet, he doesn't walk on water...perhaps he's made a few mistakes also...he resigned, remember...
