Michigan Pick 5: entries due Friday, 1:15 TF time

Time to get in your picks for the Michigan race. Picks must be posted by 2:15 ET (1:15 TF time) on Friday, August 17, 2001. This is a change from the original deadline. It's only a 15 minute difference so unless you planned on posting right at the deadline it won't affect you.

    Please pick:
    Pole winner
Driver leading the most laps during the race
    Finishing positions 1-5

Please specify between Robby Gordon and Jeff Gordon, Ward & Jeff Burton, Bobby and Terry Labonte, or anywhere else where confusion could arise!

The contest is open to anyone who wants to try. If you know someone else (wife, son, s.o.) who wants to play but not join us, you may post for them separately but labeled clearly.

I have been nominated to keep totals for each race and for the remainder of the season. Since this contest has not covered the entire season, no prize will be awarded. If you want a prize, go the IRL contest and you will have chance to win love and affection.

    Points are awarded as follows:

1 point for the pole winner
1 point for correct lap leader
    5 points for correct winner
    4 points for correct second
    3 points for correct third
    2 points for correct fourth
    1 point for correct fifth

Scoring is like horse racing ... if your guy finishes at or higher than you pick him, you get points for the position you picked him to finish (example: you pick Ricky Rudd to finish third and he wins, you get three points). If your driver finishes in a position lower than you picked him, you earn ZERO (0) points for that driver. (example: you pick Sterling Marlin to finish 4th, but he finishes 5th, you get no points for that pick).

A full list of the rules is posted here. These rules are for the IRL contest so it uses IRL examples. Just substitute the word "NASCAR" for IRL in the rules. If you wish to view the entry list, click here.

    Good luck,

Why 1:15? I have edited my original post and change the thread topic to say 1:15 instead of 1:30, but what's up? I thought the rule was 30 minutes until qualifying.
