Give The guy A "Brake" !

Anyone remember the first driver to use hydraulic brakes at Indy. He was very well known in other circles.

My wild guess is Eddie Rickenbacker since he was well known in other circles, one of which was aeronautics (the birthplace of both hydralic and disc brakes?).

Knockoff...come on will ya...I spent the better part of an evening trying to come up with one that could not be answered...GREAT ANSWER !!!! By the way in 1923, the Rickenbacker passenger car, was the first to have hydraulic brakes...not Chrysler as they advertise.

(beaming like the dunce that made a lucky guess)

Thank ya. But if you'd asked about the first car to have hydro brakes you would'a stumped me!

My memory gets a little foggy back so far, but wasn't the Rickenbacker built by Chrysler?

I can remember a couple of them sitting in my Dad's "Automobile Repair Shop" back in the late 20's and early 30's

I am not sure if it was Chrysler or the Dodge Bros.
