    The "Quarrymen" were basically a "larve" band.........they turned into the "Silver Beatles"!!!!!!!!!

    ...and of course, everyone knows the Beatles' name was John Lennon's tribute to The Crickets, as in "Buddy Holly and the ..."

    half right -- it was also John's play on words regarding the Liverpool music mag called "Mersey Beat"
    And, IIRC, it was the Silver Beetles after the Quarrymen (not to mention other forgettable iterations such as Johnny and the Moondogs!)
