Thread: OT - Tenderloins

I went to the Blue Crew Grill on 96th street at Hague Road tonight to watch the Texas race. They had a tenderloing on the menu - grilled or breaded. It was a generouse serving lightly breaded on a good size bun. It was very tastee and not dripping with grease. I now have another good place close to home. It was much better than the trackloin I suffered with this year.

I just realized with discussion of the IMS Track Tenderloin I forgot to post my 2009 edition. This one came from the Indy Grill behind the Northwest Vista stands. This year I bought it at noon before the the race began. They make them up ahead of time and wrap them in foil so by the end of the day I think they are not as good. Also one year I waited too long and they ran out. Buying earlier paid off. I thought this was the best I had at the track over the years and it had a distinct peppery taste in the breading.

I had a few trackloins this year and I wasn't disappointed with any of them. I guess I was just lucky.
    Have a very blessed day!

I found out the Pit Stop Cafe does not have a way to prepare fries or tenderloins available. No deep frier there.

Thanks, D. I'll have to remember that for next year, as I didn't get a trackloin this year. But I will next year .

fivehundredtogo, you should have traveled out to the Flag Room. they stayed open until the race was over. There was a nice crowd too!
Oh, and the food is always good and reasonably priced. I had a prime rib sandwich and fries for $7.95.

My wife and I were invited to play bingo last Friday night at the Eagle's Lodge in Plainfield. Being a somewhat good Catholic I could not think of a good reason not to go.
I was told that the food was very good there so don't stop and eat on the way.
Well, my wife's friends were right. I had a terrific tenderloin. It was big, it was meaty and it tasted good! I was pleasantly surprised!

I absolutely HATE you guys who live in Indy !!!!!!!!!!!! You can get tendorloins everywhere there.

Here in Colorado, you can only get these really bad impersonators at Culvers and Gunther Toody's (a fifties diner place). They aren't worth the time. You can't even get the Pete's Pride ones in the freezer section at the grocery here. There is no room for them since we "need" to have 110 different types of burritos and chimichangas .

When I tell the bean eatin' tree huggers out here about tendorloins, they look at me like I just killed Bambi and am asking for a heart attack.

Enjoy them and don't take for granted that little slice of heaven you can get whenever you want.

Somebody needs to tell the guy with the website to check out the Monon Grill in Greencastle next time he's in town for the race.

At least it's where I think they do it best, hammered so thin you have to fold it twice to fit it under the bun. Oh and there's nothin' small about the bun either.

Other than your favorite at Green Street Pub great tenderloins can be found as close as Sheridan (Red Onion) and not further than Huntington (Nicks Kitchen).

Lots of good ones in between.

The guy with the website has been around a bit and knows from experience that a tenderloin recommendation is like a stock tip.

    Crap.

The tenderloin was one of my food groups.

Yesterday the Doc put me on lipitor.

Tonight the wife took away the salt shaker and made me walk after supper.

    Dam.

Those are all necessary moves to keep eating tenderloins. That and a bowl of Cheerios with skim milk for breakfast.

I consider myself a lucky man,

I get to see a motorcycle race (again) at the greatest speedway in the world.

I get to spend some time with my family.

And I am going to find me a tenderloin the size of a frisbee. So many choices,,,,
