Thread: OT - Tenderloins

"Well, if any of you are ever in my neighborhood(Rochester MN)..."

    Rochester MN?!?!

Do guys have to go out on a frozen lake, set up a little lean-to and then cut a hole in the ice to catch pig butt, too?

    Just wondering...

That was disgusting, but let's see where it goes...

    purloin
    sirloin
    boing (almost)
    toying (sorta)
    what's that town... DuQuoin?
I knew a girl from Lon Gisland who kinda pronounced "mine" to rhyme with 'loin

And in Brooklyn it's "OK youse... yo' toin".

A new menu item: a Chris-py Pook tenderloin sandwich. You can can dress it up all you want, give it some fancy name, but it's still really just a pig butt.

and I would love to finish this off, but I'm afraid that it's just plain crude.

Why isn't the tenderloin on the Indiana quarter?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because it would hang over the edge of the quarter by at least a half an inch.
Oh yeah, glad I clicked on this thread one more time.

The "Sycomore Deli" on North 3rd Street (US41) has a LARGE tenderloin - Too bad they seem to have a short business day and I don't get there before they shut down the fryer during the week.

Someone asked on another thread if this is a tenderloin forum. Well, I say of course it is. We keep things in total perspective!
    Have a very blessed day!

Lettuce not bring this topic to an "end." This topic does cut to the mustard and because I seem to be a little "behind," I must ketchup.

I never get the donuts because they close earlier than the deli.

Are we still trying for 300?

Actually I had Longa donuts today for breakfast and a breaded tenderloin from Mug & Bun for lunch. I might have some more of the same tomorrow seeing as how a bunch of us will be at the track

I had a decent tenderloin last night for dinner. When I unfolded the thin piece of pork behind it was larger than my plate. Tasted pretty good considering I'm not a tenderloin expert. I'm sure there are better ones out there....

And, by the way, no one should ever put "OT" in front of a tenderloin thread again. Clearly, this is not off topic.

Don't worry. I will never make that mistake again. I am just so proud to be the instigator of such an historic thread.

By the way, I think I have made my decision for my first tenderloin. We plan on hitting Union Jacks in Broad Ripple. Mainly because there are a lot of other bars to hop in Broad Ripple after dinner and it is not too far from our hotel. The icing on the cake is the fact that my brother in law, who will be attending his first 500, is from England and will fit right in.

The thread looked to be in dange of dropping off page 1!

How widespread are the beloved Tenderloins? By that I mean how far and wide are they commonly available, not the odd one-off like the Austin, TX mentioned. My co-worker from Wisconsin had never heard of the breaded and fried version. That's a style usually reserved for 2nd rate meat.

HopHead, it's not too late! You, and only you, can change it. Just edit your original post and change the subject line.

... although do you dare tamper with such a historic pillar? Is not the "OT" of one of it's quaint ironic vagarities? These are questions to ponder.

New guy catered lunch today and brought us Olive Garden Lasagna and salad and breadsticks. While it was good it wouldn't hold a feather to a good tenderloin I did however vary my routine today by having breakfast at Charlie Browns in Speedway and then on the way home I got a breaded tenderloin from Mug and Bun. I gotta quit eatin all this, I worked hard to shed 17 pounds before May and well I'v gained 6 of them back Going to Nazareth thursday morning and I hear a story about a great steak house over near there that serves a 44 ouncer. I'll let you know how it is

I once downed a 32 oz. prime rib at a steak house in Clearwater. People were stopping and staring and laughing. It took awhile, but I downed it. I'd never do it again. Maybe that led to my heart bobble a couple years ago?

Hear ye, hear ye. Let in be known to all that on this sixteenth day of April in the two thousand and second year of our Lord, that the "O" in OT as used in the title of this thread, shall no longer stand for "Off". From this day forward all shall refer to this thread as the "Omnipotent Topic - Tenderloin" thread.

. . . and there was much rejoicing.

Hey, how about my question? Chime in if your state has Tenderloins COMMONLY available. I may be mapping out vacation strategy based on the responses...

Kansas, commonly available. Called "Pork Tenders" here, most restaurants leave out the "loin."
