    Wish me luck.

I've got my first basketball game of the season coming up tonight!

Hopefully we'll do better than the Chicago Bulls are doing.

I scored 11 points and we won in double overtime! It's the third straight year we've won our season opener by coming from behind or breaking a tie in the last 10 seconds. Our shortest player scored by tipping in a missed bucket right at the buzzer! Whew!

Tell us more. Who/what do you play for?

Missed the first game, but good luck on the rest of your games.

Great Hills Christian School, a small private school here in Austin. Our team is actually made up of GHCS people and homeschoolers, as are several Great Hills teams since in most cases just not enough people at the school want to play for there to be a team otherwise.

I play point guard/shooting guard. The guard position is pretty much forced by my lack of height. The lack of height thing is pretty much a team trait unfortunately. Oh, well, height isn't everything - just ask Mugsy Bogues.

Next game is Tuesday evening. They've got several tall guys with good post moves who can pound it on us inside, but Josh, Chris, and I (our three guards) have a quickness advantage over their guards so hopefully that will compensate. And George, our forward, may give up several inches to their forward but George will never be lacking in rebounding aggression. We'll see. This oughta be another good game.

Well, well, well, Statman is a youngin. I wouldnt have known.

When I used to send 17 - 25ish year olds for the ASVAB (Armed Services Voc Apt Bat test) it was difficult to find guys to score 50 or higher on it,,,,, heck, it was hard to find HS grads to score a 32 on it. Except for the Christian/Cath?lic(sp) schools and the home school kids. Almost every one of them scored high 60's to low 70's on it. You read like you would do very well on it.

Anyway, good luck on your bball. But, why are you in Austin playing ball? Shouldnt the family move to Indiana where they REALLY play ball?

Hey, yeah, then our team could be part of the "Hoosiers" magic! The short guys from the small school who make a run at state! But who says only Indiana small schools can pull off upsets?

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.

Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.
