NHRA purses are as large or larger than most sanctioning bodies. Most events run from one and a half to two million. The big difference is how many drivers win money. With all the classes of competition and the round money for all of them the payouts get pretty used up before they get to the winner. Don't know if year end Champ money was counted or not but if it was the real win money is really thin.
