Is it Gearheads?
840 E 64th St Broadripple
ph. 317-254-3162
Its Gearheads. These guys have the best stuff, definitely check them out.
Westside is Everything Racing and across the street is Racehouse(both shops have the same owner, go figure).
Anything in particular you're looking for?

Thanks so much for all your help!!
I'm planning on going to the store off 465 & 71st & I will definitely say I was referred by TF members.
My son wants a Luyendyk winner from 1990 if there is such a thing, and although I shouldn't be looking for myself at this time of year, I'm always looking for sprints & old champ cars.
Liz, let us know what you thought of the place here when you return. I could spend days (and dollars) at the Broad Ripple shop. They seem to have stuff I don't see elsewhere. They used to have a '69 Brawner Hawk that Santa forgot to bring me- 1/10 or ?? 1/12 scale for about $700- every wire, etc. Really cool

T13, I think you saw the 1/18 version of the Brawner Hawk. I have one. Mine only cost me around $100. Lucky me. I know of some available for $400(and that's with no middle man markup from me, I'll refer you right to the guy if you're interested)
trevor, the one I saw was about 18" long and appeared hand built. If it had been $100, it'd be sittin' here on my desk right now.
Come to think of it, though, I don't recall seeing a 1/18 scale BH. That would be more my speed (size? budget?) Lemme know if you see another one. Maybe I'm slipping, but I don't recall seeing that one in the ads in the back of RACER, etc.
But, heck, there's so many I'd like to have, I get "buyer's lock" just thinking about it.
I got mine from Germany, the exchange rate was favorable. The piece was originally made by Franklin or Danbury Mint and marketed under the Ertl name. There were issues and they didn't even sell all of them I guess. This was in the 80's or early 90's. Its an incredible piece, right up there(and probably better) than the Carousel's. The guy I know had about 10 of them and is near you in Lebanon, IN. He wanted $400 each.
I don't know much about the collecter locations but a buddy of mine from California buys a lot of stuff out of a little store on the corner of 16th and Lynhurst on the N/W corner. Sorry I don't know the name of it.

Sure is. It was only made in 1/43 by Onyx. You can find them on ebay from time to time. I would say $40 is a good deal and not pay more than $70.Originally posted by Liz:

More stores tend to mark them way up.
Other than that you would have to settle for the unbuilt 1/24 scale model of his car.
The Hawk is an incredible piece.
The guy in Lebanon Indiana is Stuart with Paramount. He is a good guy to deal with and is very fair. He is a good place to go if you do not want to get ripped off and want to know what a fair price is. In the last year though he is doing more liquidating than anything so he doesn't have as much inventory.
The place at 16th & Lynhurst is called ETC, she primarily sells womens clothing & accessories. My wife and daughters have bought some pretty neat race related things from her. Her name is Marie Hall, her husband (deceased) was Norm Hall. He practiced at the 500 a couple of years back in the 60's. Not sure if he ever attempted a qualifying run or not.
She started selling the Carousels and is now also selling the vintage GMP series.
I bought a 90 Luyendyk car on ebay for $38 which included shipping just a couple of weeks ago.
Stuart is doing 99% of his business on ebay now operating under the user name of F1Replicas.com. I've probably bought 40 1/43 F1 and Indy cars from him in the past 10 months. He is a fantastic seller who usually has about 100 items per week ending Sunday night. (And no, despite my glowing recommendation, I'm not related to or affiliated with his business!)Originally posted by Mista Bone:

I have bought from Stuart for 10 years now. He is a very fair and honest dealer. His prices are indicitave of what the item really is worth.
With all the disruption going on in the diecast world, he has concentrated on liquidating instead of waiting for new stuff to come in and getting undercut by NASCAR dealers who let it go for free on Ebay just so they get 20 extra Gordon Pepsi's in their shipment.
This is the guy you need to talk to if you want to locate a very rare and costly piece. He might not have an extra but he can call people he has sold them too and see if they are interested in selling them.
