    Would "Soft Walls" have helped?

After seeing the Schrader and Jarrett wrecks, both backing into the wall at Pocono, do you think that "Soft Walls" would have helped? "Soft Walls": Do they really need a different one for different tracks?

I'd like to see the SAFER installed at Pocono. For that matter, I'd like to see the SAFER ring every superspeedway and high speed short track. But, the designer of the SAFER has not OK'd its installation at non-IMS tracks yet.

Incidentally, what do you want to "help?" Jarrett and Schrader were both OK.

Sure they were both ok. But do we really want to wait until another fine driver gets killed to finally decide to do something? I applaud DW for his unapologetic words about getting soft walls installed where they need to be installed. There has to be enough contacts with these walls so far to get a general indication that they are better than hitting concrete (duh). I feel that the list of excuses as to why they arent being installed grow more rediculous as time goes on. I completely agree with the both of you - the time has come to just put them up.
