Check out the savior's quote here:
Fontana president Bill Miller said CART was not included in a ticket package because the series ďhasnít been clear on its direction for the future.Ē CART CEO Chris Pook, after learning of the Fontana snub, said he would gladly commit to a new contract. Then he added, ďItís okay. We prefer that fans who want to see our races donít have to buy tickets for those they donít want to see.Ē Quips aside, ISCís relationship with CART, which has raced at five ISC-owned tracks in the past, is all but dead. The last ISC track on CARTís schedule, and the last superspeedway, will likely be gone after next season.
I know the Cart fans will tell me it is nice to have a guy really putting it out there, really telling people how it is--my take--that is no way to run a business. Pook exudes class.
