Check out the savior's quote here:
Fontana president Bill Miller said CART was not included in a ticket package because the series “hasn’t been clear on its direction for the future.” CART CEO Chris Pook, after learning of the Fontana snub, said he would gladly commit to a new contract. Then he added, “It’s okay. We prefer that fans who want to see our races don’t have to buy tickets for those they don’t want to see.” Quips aside, ISC’s relationship with CART, which has raced at five ISC-owned tracks in the past, is all but dead. The last ISC track on CART’s schedule, and the last superspeedway, will likely be gone after next season.
I know the Cart fans will tell me it is nice to have a guy really putting it out there, really telling people how it is--my take--that is no way to run a business. Pook exudes class.
