ok Villeneuve won the championship in 1995

Zanardi, very likeable, very well respected!

Montoya , he could well be f1 world champ!

The ex-CART guys dominating the IRL

ex-CART guys 1-2 at NASCAR in the weekend! they raced after 1996!

I'm sorry* you are so bitter about CART from 1996 onwards, sure they were the best teams and stayed away from indy! Despite their disloyalty to the Royal Hulman-George family, (some believe they should be hung from the padoga for their treason to King Anton II) that they are welcomed into the IRL, and they've squeezed out those who 100% loyal to king Anton!

Your bitterness speaks volumes! If CART was not a major sanctioning organisation from 1996, it should've been easy to topple it! I believe you want CART to disappear so the average fan, who couldn't give two effs about Indy/Indy-style* racing, will no longer be confused, I'm afraid yu're very much mistaken!

    * If I was a better man I'd have meant it

Why is every driver to ever drive in CART considered an ''ex'' CART driver?
Most of these lads got their grooming and pedigree's from F3,F3000,F Nissan etc. They are ''ex'' alot of series, not just CART.

Most of these ''ex'' CART driver's were only there, hoping to go on to bigger and better things. It's the rare euro racer that lists his dream to be ''champcar driver''.[or is that Motorocker??]

Geez defender. I have enjoyed many of the CART races since 96. The Zanardi years were incredible. Watching Greg Moore brought me a lot of joy . And watching a certain JPM come onto the scene was very fascinating to me. If it weren't for JPM I wouldn't be an F1 fan.

    Overstatement of the day.

It's apparently relevant to you. You talk about it all the time. Good bad, whatever. You even go to races yourself.

To say it's "not relevant", is comedic at best.

The fact that CART as an organization has managed to sadly find ways to assainate itself over the last 8 years, is dissapointing.

    And still relevant.

As a new series dedicated to a different racing model (Urban roadies and streets), it could suceed. BUT it will HAVE to look forward, and stop connecting to the "Indycar" days of its past.

Make it appear that you are starting over. From scratch. (New cars ASAP, blah blah blah.)

A clean slate is better than a dirty plate.
    Rest in Peace, Miles Nelson

    Never forget, 'Mackie' was here.

I am afraid that if Cart "dies" the Cart name will be just be used for a series that is a total joke....kinda like the "New CanAm" series did in the late 80's.

    Remember that series?
