The series that hires the stars from the little tracks across this great land deserves to be #1
It takes a short track racer to beat a short track racer.
I like in the cool down lap Tony intentionally spun the car in the wet infield grass. I think it was Mike Joy that said. "And I think Tony might be stuck." Wally answered, "He's a dirt track racer. He'll get through it."
Nice job, Smoke!

The spirit of OW racing is alive and well, even if the top level is being run in cars with windows
Thank goodness for NASCAR, ironically it's done more for grass roots OW racing than we could imagine.
Every kid in a midget has his eyes on the prize - NASCAR
without it there'd be no place to go and no reason to race in OW.

And every once in awhile Nascar puts on a decent race.

but don't forget: "Every Race is a Great Race" when your favorite racing personalities are involved.
A callous reality still lost upon our series and the hardcores

When 3 out of the top five in a WC race are sprint car drivers...is the handwriting on the wall...
Without NASCAR as a hope to move-up to OW racing would be dead in the water

Not sure what you mean, Carl, but if its that OWR drivers want to be in Nascar I think Sam Hornish popped that balloon.
Not all openwheel drivers are created equal. Sam's where he should be.Originally posted by Truth Detector

"It was actually fun, because you're back fully driving again in these trucks. Ninety percent of the tracks we go to in the IRL, you're flat-out. I was having to lift off the corners some here." - Buddy Rice

What I'm "trying" to say TD is that by NASCAR hiring the best OW youngsters it fills the ranks of the grass-roots OW series. Without that inducement there would be few kids in the midgets and sprint cars on a sat night. They'd all be driving jalopies and late models.
Bingo!! Stop clouding the subject with truth & logic!Originally posted by Racewriter
