By far...my first choice would be the fine former Indy 500 driver Bob Christie, who was known as "Cave Man", because he was a guide in the caves in Grants Pass,Oregon. He drove in the days before the two way radio, but could you hear a spotter saying..."The Cave Man is on your back bumnper" !

This one is way too obvious.

    Larry "Boom Boom" Cannon

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.

Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.

    You're right .... I forget .... was he a Serb? I don't remember. Nonetheless, I think it was a good nickname.

Yes! The "Mad Russian"! Loved that guy. How about "Preacher"? So many "Wild Bill's", "Iron Mike's", "Dutch" "Little" was for quite a few drivers. Same for "Smoothie" and "Big"

Also, "The Hippie" and "The King" - two of them. "Slammin' Sammy" "Wild Child"
Funny how there are not many nick names in NASCAR, isn't it? Guess car # 8, car # 24, car # 12, etc have taken nick names from the drivers????????

Interestingly"The Flying Scot" Johnny Thomson was called "Bad Man" by his car owner Sam Traylor. Johnny was about the most unassuming person off the track as they come.

I think Mike Duvall is the name you're looking for
Faster than a bullet from a gun
    He is faster than everyone
Quicker than the blinking of an eye

Lenny, a different Cactus Jack is the father of a well-known OW racer, who may be headed south.

Couldnt tell you for sure Joe about that name, He always showed at Ascot with the darndest looking rail midget, looked like it should have been retired long before then. I heard he went on to run some CRA shows?
Maybe the name was to hide from something?
