    Dear Santa

What do you all as race fans wish for open wheel racing this next year.

I would like a successful CART season, with maybe 18-20 cars, 15 races, with hopefully 2 ovals. In addition, good rides for Ryan and Jimmy, and Dinger.

More importantly, a safe racing season for all series, and no fatalities or major injuries this year in any series.

    Merry Christmas to all.

Some money for the people who owned C^RT stock would be nice....oh and world peace! (both are not very likely)

    Thanks Tara

I am so touched that you are concerned for the poor stock holders like me. Otherwise, I would have thought you were just taking another shot at CART.

So much for keeping this thread above board. I guess I should have slammed IRL in my wish.

How about full field for every open wheel race, great competition and a safe season.

And a ChampCar Championship for Patrick Carpentier, an IndyCar Championship for Tony Kanaan, and a Championship for anybody but Schumacher in F1!

Actually I was thinking about people like the mechanic the Star reported about. You remember the one that lost several thousand dollars, because he believed Pook when he said C^RT would be fine and there was enough money for a 2004 season.

Then he believed OWRS when they said they would buy C^RT for 56 cents a share.

I think it would be nice if he got some pennies on the dollar, for Christmas.

And yes world peace would be nice too. (Again I doubt either happens).

Let's see...... how about a separate IRL sanctioned RR series, no yellow flag pit stops on the ovals, two great season long, competitve championship chases, 22+ cars in each series, and most of all, no injuries in all of the sport.

And still no mention of vasserfan, who is a stockholder. Nice to think about him too, at "difficult" times like these.

I was gonna paraphrase Steve Martin, but thought it best that he speak for himself:

Steve Martin: If I had one wish that I could wish this holiday season, it would be that all the children to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace. If I had two wishes I could make this holiday season, the first would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing in the spirit of harmony and peace. And the second would be for 30 million dollars a month to be given to me, tax-free in a Swiss bank account. You know, if I had three wishes I could make this holiday season, the first, of course, would be for all the children of the world to get together and sing, the second would be for the 30 million dollars every month to me, and the third would be for encompassing power over every living being in the entire universe. And if I had four wishes that I could make this holiday season, the first would be the crap about the kids definitely, the second would be for the 30 million, the third would be for all the power, and the fourth would be to set aside one month each year to have an extended 31-day orgasm, to be brought out slowly by Rosanna Arquette and that model Paulina-somebody, I can't think of her name. Of course my lovely wife can come too and she's behind me one hundred percent here, I guarantee it. Wait a minute, maybe the sex thing should be the first wish, so if I made that the first wish, because it could all go boom tomorrow, then what do you got, y'know? No, no, the kids, the kids singing would be great, that would be nice. But wait a minute, who am I kidding? They're not going to be able to get all those kids together. I mean, the logistics of the thing is impossible, more trouble than it's worth! So -- we reorganize! Here we go. First, the sex thing. We go with that. Second, the money. No, we got with the power second, then the money. And then the kids. Oh wait, oh jeez, I forgot about revenge against my enemies! Okay, I need revenge against all my enemies, they should die like pigs in ****! That would be my fourth wish. And, of course, my fifth wish would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace. Thank you everybody and Merry Christmas.

Oh, and 26 fully funded IndyCars with rides for RBM and Dave Steele.

I just find it hard to worry about a series tied to guys like Kevin Kalkhoven who walked away from JDS with $250 million (US), just before the tech. wreck. The largest transfer of shareholder value to upper management in history.

I wouldn't mind seeing some friends I know at WorldCom get some chump change as well. And the folks who lost alot at Enron.

P.S. Vasserfan, you complain as if I insulted C^RT, even to the point of saying maybe you should have insulted the IRL.

Read my post again. I never insulted C^RT. I said I wished good will on C^RT stockholders, hoped they would get something out of the buyout. If that is an insult on C^RT/OWRS , then it is by C^RT/OWRS's own doing not mine.
