We decorated in red yesterday
Well, our dog did, anyway. We have a 3 year old Brittany named Boomer. In light of OU's upcoming appearance in the Sugar Bowl, he added a good deal of Sooner color to our home.
Saturday afternoon, I was working in the backyard while the wife and kids were at a movie. I needed to run to Lowes (for the third time that day) to pick up more stuff. It was a short drive and I was only away for about 30 minutes.
When I got home, I found the dog in the house in a panic. I said hello and he seemed to calm down. As he headed out the doggie door, I noticed that one of his hind legs was coated with blood.
Somehow, I have no idea how, he had cut himself pretty badly. Must have been outside somehow--we have acreage. After I looked it over, I decided that a trip to the vet was needed. I scooped him up, headed to the vet, spent $185 in repairs, and we headed home.
Then, I got a good look at the house. Boomer had literally bled in every room. Blood trails (well, drips) throughout the house. Upstairs. Downstairs. On tile. On carpet. By his bowl (got a drink, I guess). Left a nice pool of blood in front of his favorite window. When I realized that our master bedroom door had been left open, I found that he had camped out in the middle of my wife's favorite bedspread for a while. We had a nice big stain there. Not to mention the one he left on my pickup seat.
Now, the dog is fine so don't worry. How in the world he could leave that much blood on the carpet and be fine still amazes me. Sheesh. Hydrogen Peroxide took it all out with just a few hours' effort.
Oh well, go Sooners!

SSDD
Going into the K-State game I thought this might be one of the strongest college teams in years.
They really picked the wrong time to come apart.
I have doubts either LSU or Oklahoma could have beaten USC the way the Trojans played in the Rose Bowl.
