Need help from Indy music people

Anybody know anything about a place called Birdy's?

My band is playing there in June and was hoping for a heads up on the place.

Birdy's is just about the only place in town that seems to book any bands these days. I've never been, but they seem to have the most bands.

    There's the Patio too.

The Vogue turned into a dance club, more or less, on weekends.

The guide to the local scene these days is www.indianapolismusic.net

Tell us the name of your band. Maybe some of us locals will come over and introduce ourselves. Do you know what dates you'll be playing yet?

I go for the bands, not for the atmosphere. It's more or less a big commercial steel building with a stage in the corner. Sounds OK, crowd seems nice enough and the help is friendly. What's your band's name?

    Oh and...

Not true. For instance...the Melody Inn north of 38th and Illinois. My favorite venue and they have live music just about every night of the week. Great people, atmosphere and music....

I also neglected to mention the Emerson Theatre.

The name of my band is Internal Void. We're playing a two day 'heavy rock' festival @ Birdy's on June 18-19 called the Templars of Doom Festival. We'll be playing on the 19th.

Thanks for the info. Mainly wanted to know if it was a dump of not. We've played plenty of dumps in our area, would hate to travel 550 miles to play another.

Our website should be up soon, guitar player is taking care of that. Here's the website for the fest.

But, I think it's down temporarily. The venue was just changed to Birdy's, so I think they're making the changes to the website.

For those of you into the heavier side of rock, I'd encourage you to attend as there are many fine bands on the bill.

Not a dump, so no need to worry. They have a web site:

I once saw Richie Havens in concert there, back in the early 70's. It had a different name then.
    Have a very blessed day!

Hmm, the night before the U.S. Grand Prix. Did you know that MD?

Hey!..., Tiffany (yes, THE Tiffany) is going to be at Birdy's the 8th of April.

Maybe I'll dig out my old Playboy and have her sign it...

It must be a class joint.

You know, somehow that slipped by me. Must be my brain keeping the seperation of my music life and my racing life.

What's the hotel situation like for that weekend? Should I be looking now? Guess we'll get gouged on nightly rates

If you played bass you wouldn't need a place to stay. You'd be choosing one or two among several offered to ya by the bass hotties.

This is what I saw at Birdy's last friday

and this is what I wrote about it....

    http://www.indianapolismusic.net/pic...alefronted.php

and this is a pic from my favorite live venue in Indy, the Melody Inn, I'm on the left.

There are so many places to see live local music in Indy, and many out of town local acts. The music is SO underrated, and its the cheapest entertainment in town in most cases.

This may answer the question to some those who have wondered where I've been hiding

As a matter of fact I DO play bass. But, not so sure my better half would appreciate me spending the weekend with the 'bass hotties'.
