I don't, and neither does my wife, any of my three children, my mother, father, aunt, youngest sister, or step-father. I have never heard any of my closest friends use a cuss-word. I only hear those kinds of words in movies, sometimes at work, or ocassionally from my brother, though not very often from him.Kerry swears. So does GWB. So do I. So do 200 million other Americans.
If Senator Kerry cusses, that's between him and God. Any public figure who cusses should keep it in private, and definitely not on a web site.
We expect a President to control his tongue in public, even if he cannot control it in private.
DoctorIndy pretty well defined it, and some guy named James once put it this way:
"When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. This should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?"
