"Look ahead to 2006. Many veterans will be gone. Many fans will be without their favorite veteran driver(s) to support. Who are the Rusty Wallace fans going to support? Where have the Bill Elliott fans gone? Are Elliott fans still watching? Back in 2001 we lost one of the most important men in the sport, Dale Earnhardt. Luckily for NASCAR, back at that time in the sport there was an up and coming driver named Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt Sr. fans immediately had a driver to support in their great loss, the son of their hero Earnhardt Jr.. But where are the fans going to go when all of these veteran drivers are gone? I bet away from the sport and NASCAR will start to decline. That is where history and fan loyalty will come in play. Ignorance of the obvious, is not an excuse."
Did the fans leave when Cale, David, Richard et al retired...get over it...they young talent abounds in NASCAR...

I would say that all the Wallace, Elliott, Martin, and Labonte fans will keep on watching long after the end of next season... and anyone suggesting that they wouldnt is probably a little dense.![]()
Hmm..the only thing I got outta that article was the fact the writer doesnt like Brian France. So what. By the way, Busch gave em all a free week when he blew his motor. I'am not a fan of Busch... But no matter how you want to play it, He is the champion, period. Kinda reminds me of the last two presidential elections.![]()
Rusty Wallace - Jamie McMurray or Team Penske
Mark Martin - Matt Kenseth(Mark is part owner of the 17) or Roush Racing
Terry Labonte - Hendrick Motorsports drivers/Justin Labonte?
Bill Elliott - Kasey Kahne
Preserving America's oval track tradition:
1.New Hampshire, 2.Charlotte, 3.Dover, 4.Disney World, 5.Las Vegas, 6.Atlanta, 7.Gateway, 8.Nazereth, 9.Phoenix, 10.Fontana, 11.Pikes Peak, 12.Michigan.
Seems like Pamela Nolastname, who is credited for writing that editorial:
- can't spell
- uses too many cheesy nicknames
- is a bitter Jeff Gordon fan
I gotta agree with Dolan on this (:reaching down to feel temperature below). NASCAR has a lot of 'torch-receivers', something Indy cars didn't have when SuperTex, Big Al, Rocket Mears, Spin'n'Win Sullivan and Super Mario hung up their helmets.

- Make a note of the word 'Gobbly-gook'. I like it and I want to use it more often in conversation.
--Yes, sir.
I was amazed at how Kasey Kahne became popular almost instantly. I have two theories:
1. He inherited Bill Elliots fans
2. All the female NASCAR fans fell in love with his enchanting eyes.![]()
I think its a little of both. Lots good young drivers to pull for now.
