Paid $2.16 in Winter Haven yesterday morning... then drove to Tampa where it was going for $1.96.

a distance of 45 miles here... anybody want to take a crack at explainin' that one?

Oh and in Lakeland they were splitting the difference at $2.06.

Gas wars are a thing of the past in Minnesota. The geniuses at the capitol passed a law that prevents stations from selling gas at less than $0.08 more than what they payed for it.

My wife filled up at the Thorton's in Speedway for $1.73 yesterday, I went there today and paid $1.83. As I was filling up they announced over the speakers that anyone who had not started filling up needed to stop and wait for the price increase, as the pumps would not work til then. So as I was pumping my gas, it went from $1.83 to $2.09.

What are the prices like on the East side of town?

I am not as familiar with that end of town, which is why I am asking, even after checking out Ren's link. I will have to remember that one.
One driver's "fuel strategy" is another driver's "speed up or we will park you!"

They know Rubes live in Winter Haven?

Yeah I was mad driving thru Lakeland but when I got to Tampa I was checking the rearview mirror to see if "SUCKER" was written on my forehead.

But whenever I use to call into Ron & Ron (used to be Tampa's BoB and Tom, and half of the act is now half of Ron and Fez) they would play dueling bangos in the background.
