    Arrow Kurt Busch leaving Roush!

CONCORD, N.C. -- Roush Racing announced Tuesday that Kurt Busch has advised team officials that he has signed with another team commencing in 2007. The name of the team is not known.

Busch also requested a release from his contract for 2006. Due to sponsor and team considerations, Roush Racing said no decision on that request will be made for an indefinite period.
I didn't think I'd see his name appear in the silly season even though it is a year plus away.

Will Mark Martin keep being pulled from retirement?

I am supersticious, once Mark set a date he should stick to it.

I feel the same way. I'd hate to see something happen to Mark after he said he was already going to retire

How well did he practice at the Brickyard? The reason I ask is because Dave Despain mentioned on Speed that DEI is apparently going after an under-30 driver that practiced well at Indy, to replace Micheal Waltrip. Furthermore, it seems NAPA will leave DEI if the team does not sign a driver that meets the required profile.

Despain said that he thought Brian Vickers fit the profile. If Vickers is indeed the chosen driver and leaves Hendrick for DEI, that creates a vacancy at Hendrick. Could Busch be tempted to join his brother?

............ not to mention having to give back all of the fabulous parting gifts and reimbursing everybody, who has thrown him going away parties.

Would Miller sponsor a guy named after one of their competitors?

    I suspect DEI.
He and Harvick make a nice pair.

Penske South has been the confirmed destination.

Kurt was at the Hungarian GP as a guest of a certain Japanese manufacturer...

    Ironically, it appears so!

I've always been a fan of Roush and the way he ran his operation, but I was really disappointed when he signed McMurray for 2007 when he still had a year left on his contract. So maybe this is some payback. I really think NASCAR needs to step in and maybe start handling these contracts the way the NFL does and only allow negotiation and signing of a driver when he is in his final year by another team.

    Is it May yet ?

Just can't warm up to that guy, especially as the Cup champion. Not right somehow.

I feel the same way about the guy. It seems Jack Rousch is good at getting the guys who can race but nobody likes.

thats a good question, i was listening to the race on ESPN Radio, they asked Mark if he would run Indy ever again, he said that you would have to ask Chip Gannassi (sp) if he was,

is he going to Chip or just funning

The only advantage I see is being one of three drivers instead of one of five.

I hear he wants to make the move to Penske in 2006.

Is it so much that Busch wanted to move to Penske as it is that he wanted to move to Miller Beer.

My guess would be the stability brought by the Miller beer sponsorship .

If "Floyd" lets Jamie leave next year for Roush, then Mark does not run Indy again - that is my take to the comment.
