Anyone out there have one? Allegedly, you'll never run out of hot-water as they heat "on demand".
Do they work as advertised?

I ain't quiet, everybody else is too loud.
A friend of mine has a large resort up here and he uses them in all his units. He is quite pleased with them. I don't know the brand, however.
Yep.
I have on in the 1928 Tudor just purchased. Heats up in about 30 seconds after turning on water, and stays hot.
Have jumped in the shower just after G/F finished, and with "whites" (hot) in the washing machine - and still had hot water.
Only downside - system's "brains" are run off electricity - so if you lose electric due to a storm - you have no hot water until power is restored.
I've been happy with it.

Mine is a little different but a similar concept and similar results - I have a combi-core system that is the boiler for my radiant floor heat combined with a tankless hot water system. The water is heated in a micro-foil piece that is a multilayered cluster (each layer is copper with very thin channels for water to pass through) that alternates between a very thin layer of heated water and a thin layer of water in my hot water system. The hot layer is so effective at bringing the water system layer up to a steaming hot temperature, it is unbeatable. And it lasts for as long as my well pump will find water!![]()

Is it May yet ?
I've been thinking of looking into one of these myself, I also heard that if you currently have electric hot water you save on electric as well because you are only heating the water when you need it instead of your hot water tank haolding water and keeping it at temp.
I have also learned that there is a $300 federal tax credit (not deduction) for installing one of these, since they are energy-saving devices.
Me thinks it's time to call and get a few quotes.
These are all they use here in Brazil. They save a lot of power and work great unless the electricity goes out.

They're also pricey, the Noritz' I've seen run from $900 to $3000.
My bro bought one after he kept running out of hot water with 3 females getting ready each morning.
Problem solved. He highly recommends.![]()

I briefly looked into these when my water heater died about four years ago. At that time, they looked good for couples or small families. They could let you do 100 hot showers in a row, but if you have multiple showers and a dishwasher going at the same time, it wouldn't be able to keep up with demand. Maybe they have improved the volume issue since then.
They do have them here at my office in all the break rooms. Under the sink is a very small plug-in water heater that works great for a single sink.
I guess it's like anything else in the world when trying to determine if it would work for you . . . it depends.
