Pits, pit road/Pit box - age limits?

I see Zippy's kid on his lap, up on the pit box. Looks no older than 5 or 6. Isn't there an age limit?

Actually, I've wondered that, too because I often see kids with their Dads before a NASCAR race.
(I always assumed in every racing series the minimum age was 18)
