Why in the world is Bobby Rahal a guest at the fan forum in Cleveland?
Why in the world is Bobby Rahal a guest at the fan forum in Cleveland?
If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE, feel free to stand in front of them.
Jesus Saves! Passes to Noah.....He shoots, he scores!
He is a three time champion of the former CART series, an Ohio resident, and a former Cleveland winner.
Perhaps those are some of the reasons.![]()
Because Bobby Rahal has a masochistic streak, and can't wait to be abused by disgruntled CC fanatics?![]()
Seriously, I guess the most immediate reasons would be the ones just noted, + Graham's involvement in Atlantics. More generally, Rahal's appearance at a number of CC events suggests to me that KK (for whatever reason) has buried the hatchet with Rahal over the latter's departure on the eve of the 2004 season. Business is business.

And he is the father of Graham Rahal, who is competing in the Champ Car Atlantics series, which will have a double header at Cleveland this weekend.
...with standing starts no less (and Cleveland's Turn 1)!!!![]()

new sig pending
Rahal was everywhere in the Portland paddock this past weekend. They had the full hospitality unit in there too. It was in the champcar paddock rather than the Atlantics paddock.
I think Bobby is welcome around those parts. No fans gave him any greif when he sat in the stands on mutliple days either. He sat just a few feet beside me.
I guess March of 2003 is history.
Jakester, I forgot that they were introducing the standing starts this year. So Cleveland's the first, eh? Can't wait to see how it turns out (crossing fingers that there's no big incident).Originally Posted by Jakester

I will post pics for your enjoyment. will try to get the cars lined up on the grid If I can see there from my seats. Should be able to but the pit lane may be in the way.
That would be great, PWDuncan. Looking forward to it.
Have a great weekend in Cleveland!

Oh yeah - he's an interesting thing some of you may not know. I was at the very first Cleveland GP in 1982 (I was 15 years old). Guess who won?Originally Posted by logjammer
None other than Bobby Rahal.
