    New California track?

    what ever happened to this deal? Ca, EPA get them?

    They are marching through the bureaucratic bs at the current time. They have solicited some bids and will start construction when the permit process is complete. I'm guessing a a mid 2007 strat and first race a year later. Kern County is pretty racer friendly.
    A good race driver, given adequate seat time, can drive any well prepared racecar on any track surface or configuration at competitive speeds. Remember, I said a GOOD race driver!!!

    Thanlks Gerald. What about the track at the old Castle airforce base? whats been going on there? I had heard it was stalled with the application process also.

    They have had a bunch of hearings and completed the environemental impact report. They also are awaiting the Merced County Board to do something. Meanwhile, the management team is now running Altamont. They have spent a bunch of money including repaving the track and adding MUSCO Lighting. It's still windy, but they are getting the shows done by 9:30 or 10:00 and not running 10 classes a night. They are running Saturday evenings and Sundauy afternoons. I don't ecpect the Castle Track (Riverside Motorsports Park to start up before 08 or 09 if ever. They sure seem to be spending a lot on Altamont at this point.
