Just seeing how much you plan on spending this holiday season.
The difference between right and wrong are as clear as night and day, but the color of justice is green. bFoOt
1 gift for each the 2 grandchildren.
Some cash for each of my sons.
My love and I don't exchange. My brothers and parents don't exchange at this time in our lives.
We will have a nice dinner and reflect how good it is that we are all around for another year.

"In the land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness...If we speak..we say it the wrong way; if we do not speak we are cowards…."
Personally, my wife and I dont exchange gifts, our rational is that its more for the kids if we keep it just for the kids. Besides, she gets a great gift everyday waking next to me.![]()
Too much, as usual, but I love buying and giving gifts!!
Well the gift giving is under control, with so many extended family members we've just cut down to a few of the closest children. Each other. Oh, and our own kids. And the new grandkid. And the new daughter in law. Cripes.
However it being such a warm and fuzzy time for the wife and all, there are the bows and lights and doodads and comfort foods and special wines and cheeses and Bailey's by the fire and all that stuff. It's kind of like living in a Christmas catalog sometimes.
But 'tis the season, so we'll tighten the belts, literally, sometime after the Super Bowl...
We just paid off the Christmas card from last year so back to spending for this year. At 3% interest it cost us an extra $150 it's not so bad, although not good. Better than trying to save the cash all year long.
If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE, feel free to stand in front of them.

I think this poll needed to be divided further at the lower end, as I suspect many of us will be spending quite a bit less than $500. For me, the actual amount is $0. Our family decided a number of years ago that we all had plenty of stuff (no children to buy for), so we decided to give up the shopping hassle and donate the money we would have previously spent on gifts to support missionaries. I've since changed my donation from annual to monthly.

"No matter where you go in the world, you say Indianapolis and they don't think about football or basketball, they think about the race." -- Richard Petty
I've found, now that my boys have reached their teen years, that I'm spending more on them. I've also found that I'm buying them stuff that I tend to borrow.
This year, they're getting a kewl GPS unit.![]()
Hey. They're worth it.![]()
5 Siblings to shop for, one nephew, three cousin's(They are little kids so they get toys), my parents, my boyfriend, my boyfriends niece, my boyfriends parents, Toys for Tots, and presents for some friends and co-workers.
I'll probably spend about $600 I save up over the year for Christmas so I'm good, I won't be broke by the end of my shopping madness.
"Ninety-two years ago [the Indy 500] was probably like any other race," said 2005 winner Dan Wheldon. "But over time it's just created so many storylines and history for people of our generation that now it's just massive. People value that history and tradition and you just can't take that away."
...usually close to $500.00 for me. Probably spend more than I should but I feel like money is not an object in showing my family how much I care for them.
My first Indy 500 was 1973, haven't missed one since 1981. To date I have attended 35 Indy 500's, and probably 100 or so other IndyCar races (CART & IRL).
Not much. Last year, because I was working fulltime, unlike being in college this year, I said that I'd buy everyone a four times bigger gift than normal because it might be a while until they get some again.
"I kill for the code to disarm this mess..."
Christmas club or savings is the way to go. We really dont miss the $20 buckaroos a week and it adds up to over a thou for the year.
Im in the 1000-1500 club. Brother, sister, mom and dad, kids, nephews, neices, good neighbors....it all adds up.
With me looking for employment this holiday season our spending is going to be down. $600 max down from ~$1,000. Kids will get the same amount of stuff, cutting back on gifts to extended family and between my wife and me.
Remember, you are unique, just like everyone else.
