    Super Bowl Tid Bits

Since the talking heads will probably repeat the same boring carp all week instead of really breaking down the game and those involved, how about a thread to post little known or ignored facts. Here's two:

    1) Lovie Smith's mom is blind (I wonder if the network talking heads will inform her that her son is black... )

    2) In this year's playoffs, Rex Grossman has a higher QB rating than Peyton Manning...

Superbowl XLI will be the ninth Superbowl in Miami not attended by me.

It will also be the 25th consecutive Superbowl not attended by me.

It will be the 31st consecutive Superbowl that I've watched (vs 34 Indy 500s)

Shades of an old Dave Chappelle skit about the blind Klansman who didn't know he was black... then when he found out left his wife for being a *beep* lover.

I'm sure there are more difficult things to explain... I just can't think of any right now.

    One word: NFC.

That's not a word... it's three letters that represent three words.

If you disagree and still believe it's a word... pronounce it.

It's an acronym pronounced "Sucky Conference."

Measured from the cities' airports, Chicago and Indianapolis are the closest cities geographically to play in the same Super Bowl. (141 miles)

It beats out the Baltimore/New York matchups from 1968 and 2000. (147 miles)

What will all of you NFC haters say if/when the Bears win the game?
The transformation is complete. The Indy 500 is the only IndyCar race that matters.

No it never never pans out when you try to negotiate with Bears fans.

I don't know if 'hate' is the word. More like 'reality.' The NFC produced in its playoffs an 8-8 team and two 9-7 teams, one of which won their division.

And head to head, AFC wins 40-24. Bear's only 3 losses? AFC teams.

If Chicago wins the Super Bowl, it doesn't mean the NFC is better, only that they were better than the Colts on Feb. 4.

I thought the Packers pulled an upset against the Bears? Wasn't that the game where Farve was all weepy eyed afterwards?

Oops, you guys are right. The Packers did beat them, so 2 of the 3 losses were AFC teams. That's what I get for trusting that part of the article.

Every time the Colts have been in the Super Bowl, it's been in Miami.

The same could be said about the Patriots, Dolphins, and Packers who were better than the Bears on select weekends......and of the previously mentioned teams, only one is playing......

Let's put this in racing terms: The Patriots and Dolphins are in the prototype class, and the Bears are in the GT class.

Just because the Bears won the GT class doesn't mean they are in the Colts' league. Could they win? Sure, if they play their very best game while the Colts struggle.

The NFC will still be inferior to the AFC and one game will not change that.

And Grossman admitted he was looking ahead to the NYE party.
