Hwy 128 in Utah from I-70 into Moab

For the drive: Highway 12 and onto Washington 127 between Dayton, WA and Pullman, WA. Lots of fun corners, not a lot of cops.

For the scenery: I-84 down the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. I-90 between Spokane and Billings, MT is nice, too. Beautiful scenery and, once you get to Montana, nice and fast.

Good choice. The road out of Nashville is pretty good too.

When I was out in Orange County, SR-74 between Elsinore and San Juan Capistrano. Fun road, across the summit of the Santa Anna Mts., lots of hairpin turns, through the Cleveland National Forrest.

Highway 37, from Martinsville all the way down to I-64. Used to call it "Caver's Highway". It was the route we took from Chicagoland to get to various caving locales in south-Central Indiana--Monroe, Lawrence, Orange (ah, that Lost River region! ) and Washington Counties...and of course Harrison-Crawford...there's dozens of caves within a few hundred yards of that highway, some of 'em are quite large too...and of course, it's the road Dave Stoller rides, drafting a Cinzano semi, in Breaking Away.

TTE, I first discovered 64 a couple of years ago, going west from Louisville.
I was stunned that this could be in Indiana, and I have lived in Indianapolis all my life. Just rarely go that far south unless I'm going to Florida.

Wrong direction! SF to LA and you're on the outside and can get to the turnouts.
Actually, any 2-lane rural California road, as long as it's sunny and we're in our flatty-powered T-Bucket.
CA 25, San Miguel to Hollister, comes to mind.
The sport bike people like Redding to Eureka, maybe this summer we'll try that one.

Always liked "White's Ferry Road" that ran from Poolesville, MD down to White's Ferry on the Potomac. The Ferry was old school and delivered you to Leesburg, VA.

Tie: The causeway from mainland to Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Main Tunnel entrance to IMS.

White's Ferry is still there. Although you probably wouldn't recognize the area if you haven't been here in a while. Out of control growth is changing/destroying much of what was once wonderful MD/VA countryside.

My favorite drives.

I-68 thru Western Maryland. Incredible mountain views and little traffic. Makes the yearly drive to Indy in the RV much easier. I get to bypass the PA Turnpike entirely and it only adds about an hour to the overall trip.

I-10 along the Gulf Coast. Made the trip back in '93. Wonderful scenes along the treck from NOLA to Talahassee. Although, I can safely assume those scenes have now changed dramatically.

Finally. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, like the feeling I get heading down Crawfordsville Rd in May. Counting the days!!
