    Hypothetical Question Thread

If you are driving a car registered to a corporation and you get caught by a speed camera, who do they issue the ticket to? A corporation can't be issued a traffic citation, I wouldn't think, and the cameras don't identify the driver.

A QB throws long for a receiver and the officials rule it a catch, although many flags are thrown for pass interference. The offense takes the play and declines the penalty. Before the offense gets the next snap off the defense throws the challenge flag. Upon further review the pass is ruled incomplete. Can the offense then un-decline the interference penalty?

The "registered owner" of the car gets the ticket in the mail .... and they won't be happy with the person with whomever the car was assigned to.

What if the "registered owner" isn't a person?

And even if it is a person, how can a citation be written to someone who wasn't even in the car? I wouldn't think it would have a chance of holding up in court.

I speak from experience as I got one of these tickets in the mail with a shot of my son's T/A (title is in my name) speeding.

When you get a ticket in the mail it is accompanied by a photo of the car in the act of the violation and a form that the owner must fill out. It gives you the option of noting that either one, you were not operating the vehicle at the time and asks who was or two you can record the date you reported your car stolen. Filled in my son's name and had him go and pay the fine. No points involved.

Your company, although not a person is a legal entity who has title of ownership to the vehicle in question and is responsible.
No different than say the EPA fining a "non person" such as GM or Wal Mart.

This is hypothetical, right? We shouldn't be providing answers.

So, let's switch the subject to BAKED BEANS!!!! How do you like 'em? What's your secret ingredient?

I was caught by one of these cameras earlier this year in Germany while driving a rental car. I received a citation in the mail that was in my name. They figured out who was driving--or at least who had the car rented out...I'm sure that happens a lot.

Oh, and it doesn't help that the ticket was 170 Euro...which is about $250.

    And, no, I haven't paid it...yet.

Well really the subject is hypothetical questions, not answers to hypothetical questions, so yes I suppose you're right.

List hypothetical questions here, just don't expect answers!
