    motorcycle ?

i've only had my Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom for two months and 1600 miles.
    i want a divorce!!!

oh, she's pretty and has all the right curves. she handles well,
    sounds good, and goes fast.

    BUT, she needs bigger jugs!!

would it be economically feesible to just put a
bigger engine on her frame (buy her some implants)?

or should i swap her out for a natural beauty?

ps: keep this hush hush, i don't want her getting
pissed or doing anything stupid to me.....

An engine swap won't be worth it. Get a bigger bike.

Its possible with the 1100 engine I think? But then you would need to change the brakes on the front from a single disc to dual disks.

I recomend switching to the Road Star I think thats a 1600cc. It has pleanty get up and go, plus its has as many aftermarket ass, as the harleys do now. Change the pipes.

she's got aftermarket pipes and air intake....
problem is to cruise at 70 + she's nearly wide open.
that gets old after a few miles. like on the trip
to abilene 120 interstate miles of high revs.

i was thinking of putting an 1100 on the same frame.
    why not??

No way. The cost to do it is probably equal to selling your 650 and buying an 1100. Do they take "trade ins" on motors? Don't bother, buy the 1100 (like you should have in the first place) and sell the 650. Lesson learned.

I was going to suggest changing the sprockets to lower the RPMs at highway speed but it appears your bike is shaft drive. So as others have said trade it in for an 1100 or better sell it private party and then buy a used 1100.
    Thanks Downforce!

Thing is, if you do the engine swap, then you're stuck with a bastardized bike that nobody will want. That 650 is a nice bike, for around town. I test drove one, and really liked it, but like you said, forget cruising at 70 for any length of time. JMO, but 1100 or so is the ideal size, for a twin anyway. Ride safe.

Agree, and especially the used part. If you can't find what you want used, then you aren't trying.

    thanks for the replies.......
yes this bike is great for around town, country road cruises, and
running errands.....but i've found i want to use it more
for going to ft worth, dallas, waco etc
and those cars and trucks on the interstate are
    cruising at 75 and up........
